Business Support Assistant

Due to expansion a new exciting role is available with this niche' expanding Global Logistics Agent for a Business Support Assistant based in Farnborough.

The Business Support Assistant will be working directly for the management team, supporting implementation of new business and software and supporting projects.

Reporting to the Head of Account Management, this newly created role is critical for ensuring the overall success of new customer implementation, assisting management reporting for customers, including tracking agreed key performance indicators, troubleshooting and assisting with reporting for business reviews.

There will be strong focus on maintaining and refining processes to improve order management accuracy, along with assisting with rate reviews and procurement.

The candidate will be responsible for both the adoption and ongoing best practice use of applications and technical solutions by operational teams, as well as assisting in developing a culture of continuous improvement and process excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Document and advise on company and local standard procedures
  • Dealing with corporate clients and partners both domestically in the UK and Internationally
  • Offering support to management assisting with procurement & tenders
  • Data Analysis
  • Reporting/KPI’s
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Monitoring & weekly reporting of On-Time & In-Full Performance KPI
  • Where appropriate identify & propose process changes
  • Product/software Demos

Candidate Requirements

  • GCSE level minimum requirement
  • Good Geographical knowledge
  • Preferably experience in Account Management/Support, implementation and logistics
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Office tools, (Powerpoint and particularly Excel, Pivot Tables, V-Look up)
  • Good analytical skills
  • Confident with new technologies and applications
  • Analytical, with great attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to handle pressure with good time-management
  • The candidate should be flexible and have the ability to work under pressure
  • Commercially aware
  • Advocate to continuous improvement
  • Good problem-solving
  • To apply and practice unit rules and regulations and comply with contractual requirements and handbook policies.
  • To apply and practice Health and Safety instructions and regulations
  • To apply all Statutory requirements as instructed

  • Willing to cross train in other departments to offer support where needed and to cover holiday periods

Terms & Working Conditions

  • The role is office based and will be subject to typical office hours - Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30. The candidate may be required to attend conference calls outside of normal office hours when planning around international time zones. The candidate may also be asked to be available outside of normal working hours during critical phases of new deployments and procurement.
  • The candidate is required to adequately manage themselves in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
