Transport Coordinator

An exciting opportunity to join specialist company who manage the Imports for FMCG Food Companies. They have specific expertise in the complex world of Fresh Produce. They are now seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to join their team in Kent. The candidate will be responsible for arranging the timely delivery of containers for their Deep Sea Clients. Co-operating with Customs Agents, Third Party Hauliers and Clients. This role demands strong interpersonal and organisational skills and regular use of MS Office Excel and Outlook. Will collate and distribute regular updates to customers regarding the status of their goods and the delivery costs. The other Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Liaising with our customs agents, clients and hauliers to arrange the timely delivery of containers and break-bulk freight from ports to inland locations.
  • Ensuring customers get the best available freight rates and service from our pool of nominated hauliers.
  • Providing regular and accurate updates to clients and customs agents on the status of transport bookings.
  • Problem resolution: vessels get delayed, trucks breakdown, delivery locations & ports hold up vehicles for a variety of reasons. The Transport Co-ordinator will always actively manage these situations and where necessary rearrange deliveries while consulting / keeping stakeholders informed.
  • You will work closely with our Sales Account Manager to determine rules of engagement on placement of jobs and to manage dispute resolution with service providers. Supporting Customs Agents in their activities

Must be able to pay high attention to detail and be flexible and a self-starter. Ability to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
